Making a comment suggesting that those who are forced to question the credibility of the defense is instinctive misogyny insults us all with one brain. At the most basic level, a reliable and clear case presented by a strong legal team, in the face of an opposition whose contribution is mainly limited to reality TV entertainment, which consists of chaining countless horrific moments, is not fair play in judging our competence or our understanding of individual or institutional bias against women. It also demonstrates the hard work that many in the legal profession have done to correct past mistakes and reconfigure an entire system to eliminate centuries and more pervasive bias (which may be impossible to eliminate completely!). Heard is the worst example of science in terms of irrational and misinformed misogynists. That her claims buried all truth under her own pile of dog-sized tea-sized feces, she is doing so much damage to all the progress we are finally making after decades of widespread failures of ERA movements – in many systems! It seems to me that she has no idea how her “editorial” approach, without the input or participation of experts, could derail, stop or even reverse the progress we have also devoted to our lives. Even beyond the legal and judicial system, we see this playing out in mental health, stigmatizing treatment, and maintaining everyday stereotypes around blended families, LGBTQ+ communities, and in her own words, she has berated women for not fighting or leaving, which is so ingrained in the privilege she enjoys that other communities can`t afford it. to act at all.
Until 2016, I naively felt that we were making progress only to find hate, prejudice and sexism in stealth mode. It fell apart, but thanks to the unwavering progress of Tarana Burke, Kimberle Crenshaw and countless others, we were able to build on a remarkable foundation while so many others found their voice. The best offense is to always include guests with expertise both from personal experience and with reputable references in the sciences and arts who offer useful resources and source material so that everyone has access to the same educational content (imho).
