The Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota (LASNEM) has been the provider of civil legal aid for the Northeast Minnesota region since 1952. During this time, it has become an integral part of the justice system and a cornerstone of the community`s commitment to the thesis that equal access to justice is a fundamental human right. LASNEM is a regional non-profit civil law firm. Offices are located in Brainerd, Duluth, Grand Rapids, Pine City and Virginia. LASNEM`s service includes Aitkin, Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing, Itasca, Kanabec, Koochiching, Lake, Pine and St. Louis counties. LASNEM opens the doors of the justice system to the most vulnerable in our community. Our staff provide people living in poverty with essential legal representation in civil matters that affect their safety and well-being.
